We love making pretty things, but it’s also critically important to us that our cakes and cupcakes taste divine. For that reason, we use only the most coveted, high-quality ingredients such as fresh cream, Callebaut chocolate, organic ingredients when available, and butter–lots and lots of butter–which makes our cakes particularly yummy.
Our cakes and cupcakes are very different from typical bakery cakes. We make everything from scratch. Most bakeries make (or buy) buttercream with butter (or shortening) and powdered sugar, giving it a sugary crunch. Here, we make the real thing: classic Swiss meringue buttercream. It’s a labor intensive process that requires dissolving sugar in egg whites, whipping them into a meringue, and adding butter. The result is a silky smooth buttercream that is not overly sweet and has no crunch. It’s unlike any buttercream you’ve had before, and we know you’ll love it.
Note: Butter is most flavorful when eaten at room temperature, so you’ll want to let our cake or cupcakes sit out for at least an hour before enjoying.
