Today is the official launch of my first Craftsy class and I am VERY excited. I hate watching myself on video or even listening to the sound of my recorded voice, so it was with much trepidation that I forced myself to watch the class. To my relief, not only was it watchable, it was pretty good! My energy, enthusiasm, and love for the craft really translated well on film, and my 15 years experience as a high school educator made it all seem very natural. My 11-year old daughter watched most of it with me and called the class “seriously entertaining”, and I think she meant it sincerely. As an added bonus, Denver, where the Craftsy classes are shot, is really dry, which is challenging when working with gumpaste but is FABULOUS for hair. Basically, my hair never looked better, so you might want to check out the class just for that.
The cake designs for the class were inspired by the four seasons, and below are many of the techniques I cover. This is only a fraction of what you’ll learn, as I also share the many tips and tricks I’ve learned in my almost 20 years of cake design.
Sign up here on the Craftsy website. I look forward to seeing you in class!
