As travelers, one thing that we all face is the need for assistance in navigating the airport, especially for those of us who travel often. However, most of the time, people don’t know what to expect from these services and end up being frustrated and disappointed. This article illustrates a few tips for using airport assistance and meet & greet services.

What are Airport Assistance and Meet & greet services

Airport assistance services offer help in getting through security checkpoints and finding places to eat, rest, and shop before or after your flight. They can also help with luggage and other special needs like wheelchairs or strollers.

Meet & greet services are similar but more focused on helping you get from the airport to where you need to be. They can provide limo service from one location to another, including transportation between terminals and parking lots within the airport itself.

Having a representative at the airport who will make all the arrangements for your arrival and departure will make your journey more comfortable and convenient. You can look for airport assistance services while booking your flight tickets. Many airline companies include these services while paying for flight tickets.

Making arrangements with your airline ahead of time can help coordinate your travel needs. This can include arranging for someone at the airport or on the plane to meet you when you arrive so that you don’t have to worry about making sure everything is set up for yourself. The airline will also make sure that there are enough seats on the plane so that everyone has enough room during take-off and landing.

If you are looking for airport assistance and meet & greet services, then look no further than Cancun CUN airport VIP services to make your arrivals and departures comfortable and hassle-free.

2. Take advantage of pre-booked meet & greet services

It’s difficult to navigate through the city, especially if you are new to that place. You can have a hard time finding the routes and will make your travel more hectic. Having someone who will pick you up from the airport and drop you at your desired destination can save a lot of time. Similarly, the representative will arrive at your destination, so you can catch your plane on time.

These personalized services can be avail by booking meet and greet services that can be pre-booked from online websites. If possible, try to book these services online instead of going through an agent or representative from the airline itself; this is usually cheaper.

3. Look for a trusted and reliable company

The purpose of a meet and greet service is to make your guests feel welcomed, and to make sure they have the best experience possible when visiting your destination. So, it’s important to find a company that you can trust and feel confident in.

You want to make sure that you are getting a company that will give you a good experience, provide professional services, and is trustworthy. It’s essential to do your research and find a company that will not only meet your expectations but also exceed them.

However, when using any of these services, make sure that you understand what they are offering and how much it will cost before booking them. If you don’t understand how much something costs or what kind of service it will provide, you may be overpaying for it.

5. Contact the company if you cannot find the representative

When you reach the arrival gate, your representative is supposed to wait for you, so they can assist you on the way out from the airport and can drop you at your desired destination. Many people dream of taking a road trip through the United States, or getting lost in the jungles of Southern Africa, but what many people don’t realise is just how much there is to see in Canada. This enormous country has unparalleled mountains, particularly for skiers, unspoilt lakes and rivers, perfect for kayakers and hikers, as well as lush forests, historic cities and dramatic scenery at every turn. If you’re looking for an adventure holiday then there’s almost nowhere better than Canada. We’re going to base this itinerary around the slopes of Mont Tremblant, but honestly, you could have just as much fun in most of Canada’s provinces.

Enjoy the Slopes of Mont Tremblant

Source: twitter.com

Canada is famous for its skiing, so if you’re traveling in winter then it really is something you should try. Mont Tremblant is a range of mountains that’s enjoyable to visit all year around, but really comes to life during winter sports season. There are easy green runs for beginners as well as plenty of onsite ski instructors and kit hire shops, making it the perfect place to learn. For seasoned skiiers there are red and black runs galore, as well as the option of heading off-piste if you’re feeling adventurous. You can find out all you’d need to know about winter sports on their website https://www.tremblant.ca/. Those who would rather watch the action than take part can sit in one of the many cafes at the top of the mountain and take in the spectacular views whilst sipping on a coffee, or something a little stronger. Of course, skiing isn’t the only winter sport that you can take part in up the mountain. You’ll find plenty of snow boarders, as well as people using shorter skis known as blades. Tobogganing is fine too, as long as you stay off the official slopes and watch out for skiers!

Stay at Sommet des Neiges, on Mont Tremblant

Source: frontier-ski.co.uk

Sommet des Neiges is the perfect hotel to make your base for the holiday, as well as offering beautifully appointed rooms, they have a huge range of entertainment both on site and a short ski away. One of their most exciting features is the gondola that leaves directly from the hotel and can take you to a stunning viewpoint from which you can see the whole of the ski resort. As well as this, you can stop on the way up or down the gondola at the local casino. Here they’ve got lots of different slots games, as well as all of the table games that you’d expect in a classy casino. Those who want to enjoy the fun but are feeling a bit tuckered out from a day’s skiing are very welcome to use Sommet des Neige’s free wifi and play until their heart’s content on the internet. If you’ve not been to Canada before then checking out some of the best gaming sites at https://www.vegasslotsonline.com/ca/ is a good idea to familiarise yourself with what’s available. This site provides impartial reviews on all kinds of casino sites, giving information on the games on offer, which bonuses you can use and how to make deposits and withdrawals. For those who’d rather kick back and relax, there’s an onsite spa with trained masseurs to tend to any of those aches and pains. During the summer months there’s an outdoor pool and hot tub which can be enjoyed from the pretty terrace.

Climb Montagne Verte

Source: passeurdemotions.com

Once you’ve enjoyed skiing the slopes and had a good night’s rest in the hotel, it’s time for a bit more action. Montagne Verte sits just to the east of Mont Tremblant and is a hiker’s heaven. If you happen to be travelling with four legged friends then they’ll be sure to enjoy this dog friendly site which offers trails that all creatures great and small can complete. Parking can be a little tricky during the height of Autumn when the foliage is truly spectacular, but there’s a bus from the resort that can help you to avoid that. There are a number of different routes around the mountain, but the N6 route should suit those of moderate fitness and will allow you to take in views of Lac Baptiste, Lac des Bouleaux and enjoy the summit too. Plan to spend a whole afternoon up the mountain, as there are occasionally steep climbs which can take longer than you might expect. If you do speed through the hike then the Nez de L’Indien is a great little add-on which will give you even more views of the surrounding countryside. Montagne Verte is completely free to enter, park and hike around, so even those on the tightest of budgets can enjoy scaling one of Canada’s prettiest mountains.

Eat at Bistrot le Loch

Treat yourself to poutine

There are some buildings that look so incongruous in their surroundings that they become a destination in themselves, we’ve written about a selection here https://ericaobrien.com/houses-on-what-appear-to-be-unimaginable-locations/ but suffice it to say upon seeing Bistrot le Loch we knew we’d missed a great one. This Bistrot is situated right on the banks of Lac Supérieur and when you’re sat inside, it feels as though you’re floating over the water. Not only is the setting of this charming little bistrot truly breath-taking, the food is spectacular as well. When you’ve been exercising in the mountains, it’s only right that you treat yourself to a hearty lunch and Bistrot le Loch can provide plenty of delicious food with a civilised French flair. The confit of duck is truly delicious, tender enough to fall off the bone, with that wonderfully salty crispy skin. They serve theirs very traditionally with rosemary roasted potatoes, fresh seasonal vegetables and a dark and delicious red wine jus. You can also try the classic Canadian staple, poutine whilst you eat here. Crisp fries are smothered in a rich gravy and cheese is crumbled generously over the top, Bistrot le Loch puts their own spin on things by adding a decadent helping of either foie gras, bacon, or that delicious confit duck. If you can manage to pull yourself out of your chair, then taking a walk around Lac Supérieur is a splendid way to round off the afternoon.

Barcelona is a tourist city. It is calmer in winter, but during the high season from May to October, there is nowhere for an apple to fall on the central avenues, especially on weekends. Tickets to the Sagrada Familia are sold out in 3-5 days, and in the most memorable places it is impossible to take a good photo “without people”.

Therefore, we decided to offer the top 5 places where you can escape from the tourist bustle and, at the same time, enjoy the atmosphere of the city.

1. Bellesguard tower

Source: knowingbarcelona.com

One of the many buildings of the legendary Gaudí in Barcelona. But, unlike the well-publicized Houses of Batlo or Houses of Mila (La Pedrera), this mansion is visited by no more than three dozen tourists every day!

The name “Bellesguard” from the Catalan language is translated as “beautiful view”. From the roof of the mansion, which is accessible to the public, offers a breathtaking view of all of Barcelona. Here it is – the best observation deck in the city. If you are looking for a social club in Barcelona, this is the right place to visit! Barcelona is thriving with coffee shops and other establishments that may be of interest to you.

The history of this site at the foot of Mount Tibidabo is associated with the king of Aragon, Martin the Humane, as well as the Catalan robberSierralonga. Therefore, the legendary architect Antonio Gaudí, when creating a private mansion, tried to preserve the heritage of the glorious and rich history of Catalonia. Complementing this with modern architectural techniques: mosaic benches, stained-glass windows, openwork metal forging and other outlandish accents so characteristic of Gaudi.

Around the Bellesguard Tower is a garden with coniferous trees, the cones of which are so reminiscent of the cross that crowns the tower of the house. Coincidence?! Knowing Gaudí’s architecture, I don’t think so.

2. Hospital Sant Pau

Source: barcelonahacks.com

Amazingly beautiful hospital complex built in the first half of the 20th century by the outstanding architect Luis Domènech i Montaner. It is located 15 minutes walk from the Sagrada Familia. But few tourists know about this diamond of modernist architecture. The hospital was designed as a garden city with dozens of buildings for patients.

No two buildings are the same here! Each is decorated with ceramic and stone flowers, images of saints and heavenly patrons of Catalonia. Between the buildings are laid green alleys with orange trees and benches in their shade. The decoration of the chambers is blue and beige tiles of incredible shapes and volumes, and sunlight penetrates through the stained glass windows. Inside – rest, outside – optimistic flowering at any time of the year. Domenech seems to have believed that art has a therapeutic effect.

3. Park Labyrinth

Source: shbarcelona.com

A park far from the city center, where the legendary film “Perfumer: The Story of a Murderer” was filmed. A labyrinth of cypresses is just a small part of a huge green park laid out in the 18th century. Here you can soak up the shade of trees on a hot summer day, have a picnic at a table at the entrance to the park, feed red fish in an artificial pond and take a couple of dozen great pictures to remember Barcelona.

4. Cactus Park or Mossen Costa and Llobera Gardens

Source: pinterest.com

Another park, the existence of which few people who travel to Barcelona know about. And it is located on Montjuic, just 200 meters from the Teleferico del Puerto cable car station, the red cabins of which fly over the old port of Barcelona, between the Barceloneta district and Montjuic mountain. In this part of the mountain it is calm, there is a lot of sun and it is warmer than in other parts of the city.

This special microclimate contributed to the fact that succulents from all over the world took root here. Their neighbors are slender palm trees and other representatives of the Mediterranean flora. Photographers have chosen this location, as there are always few visitors here and very atmospheric shots with giant cacti come out. You can check more info about social clubs and coffee shops.

5. Cemetery of Montjuic

Source: commons.wikimedia.org

A place where gothic, classicism and modern meet in one place, very unusual and fascinating. Cemeteries in Europe have long become tourist attractions, because often the rich and bourgeois ordered crypts and tombstones from great architects for themselves and their families. The Montjuic cemetery is no exception. The artists Joan Miro and Ramon Casas, the Catalan politician Francesc Macia, the flamenco dancer Carmen Amaya and Jacinth Verdeguer, the poet, whose composition Virrolay is performed by the Montserrat Boys’ Choir, are buried here. Those who rest on Montjuic have a beautiful view of the sea.

London is an exciting city to visit, but the real excitement lies just beyond the borders of the UK capital.

At weekends, in neighbouring Kent, Imperium Airsoft’s military-themed battleground provides the opportunity to engage in an authentic and enthralling military tank driving experience.

Driving fans are in for a real treat. The exciting off-road Military Driving Safari is built on an 80-acre site in the Kent countryside. And once you climb behind the wheel of an authentic armoured tank, you feel the sheer power of a 15-tonne fighting beast. It’s enough to make even the heart of the most daring drivers leap into your throat.

The ultimate military driving experience in Kent has a to be the mighty 15-tonne Austrian Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer. This supercharged armoured tank is capable of hitting speeds of 40mph, which may not sound much, but when you’re tearing through the purpose-built off-road assault course, it feels much faster and more daring than you imagine.

Military tank driving experiences in Kent introduce you to authentic military vehicles and equipment. If you don’t want to shell out £395 for a tank driving experience, you have the opportunity to burn rubber in an iconic Unimog or 4×4 G-Wagon Wolf. And if you don’t know which vehicle you want to drive, why not book a 2-hour military driving experience and drive them all!

What to Expect From a Tank Driving Experience in Kent

Source: armourgeddon.co.uk

Tank driving is a unique learning experience. With Tanks’n’Trucks.com you are given a personal experience with your own 1-2-1 instructor for a full hour.

Following a 15-minute safety briefing and learning how to drive the tank, you will be unleashed on a purpose-built tank safari complete with obstacles, hills, pits, mounds, and death-defying dips.

Your first experience of driving a tank will be to learn how to steer, accelerate and brake. It’s important to understand how to navigate the unpredictable terrain so you will also be shown how to tackle obstacles, inclines and declines.

It’s worth noting that driving a tank is not for the faint of heart, or if you have problems with mobility. Climbing into an armoured vehicle and sliding in behind the controls is an experience in itself. Larger patrons may be better suited to the Unimog or 4×4 G-Class Wolf.

Off-Road Adventures

Source: intotheblue.co.uk

Military tank driving experiences in Kent are ideal for father-son bonding or to enjoy with friends. Stag and hen parties can be arranged. Complimentary tea, coffee and cake are provided afterwards.

You can also combine your tank driving experience with Imperium Airsoft’s immersive military-themed events. Previous tank driving experience is not required. You don’t even need a driving licence and children as young as 12 years old are invited to tame the military beast.

Bookings should be made at least three days in advance. Prices start from £150 and transfers from London – in military vehicles – can be arranged if you’re staying in the city.

Relocating alone, or with your family, means that you are ready for the new chapter in your life. It is said that most of us will change the state or the area we live in at least twice in our lives, and for some, this number can be much higher. It is never easy to move, and adjusting to a new place can be difficult as well. However, if you pick the right location, the whole process will be much easier and faster for you and your loved ones. North Carolina is said to be one of the top places where people choose to relocate, and if you are trying to decide where you should go, you’ve come to the right place.

In this article, we are going to list some of the reasons why people are moving to North Carolina, and why this place is becoming so desirable. Keep on reading if you want to learn how to choose the best neighborhood for you, and how to pick the right real estate when it comes to your forever home.

1. Decreased cost of living

Source: unsplash.com

The number one reason why so many people choose this state is that the overall cost of living is lower than most of the other states. When it comes to other places, you would usually spend at least 500 dollars each month on rent, and when it comes to other expenses, that number can go as high as 1500 dollars. When we compare that to this state, just on rent you would save more than 150 dollars every month, and you could save a lot of cash on other expenses as well.

This may not seem like too much just per one month, but when you calculate the annual costs, you will see that you will be saving thousands of dollars.

2. Amazing history and culture

This place has one of the richest histories in the whole country. In the late 1500s, Sir Walter Raleigh was the first person to create a colony in this state, and there are a lot of historical places and museums here that can help you learn all about it.

If you are the type of person who wants to learn more, gain additional knowledge, and a person who is interested in interesting cultures, traditions, and rich history, then you should definitely opt for this state.

However, even if you are not interested in history, and if you are more into modern-day things then you should know that NC will not disappoint you. In places including Asheville and Charlotte, you can taste amazing beers and there are also more than 150 wineries in the area.

3. Diverse real estate market

Source: unsplash.com

One of the best things about this area is that there is something beautiful for everyone. Many people are worried that they won’t be able to find the right property for their budget, but when it comes to North Carolina, that is not an option. If you are looking for a luxurious location that will make your jaw drop, then you should opt for something including Carrboro, Weddington, the Durham area, or Morehead City.

If you are wondering about how you can find the best property for your needs, you should know that homeowners usually search the listings at Premier Real Estate when buying a home in the Raleigh or the Durham area of North Carolina.

On the other hand, if you are looking for a budget-friendly option, and if you don’t want to spend too much money on your first property, then you should look for a place in areas including Greenville, Winston-Salem, or Fayetteville

4. Warm weather

If you don’t like the freezing cold winters, and if you are tired of cleaning the snow for months every year, then this is the right state for you. In North Carolina, you won’t experience too cold winters, and even though it snows sometimes, you won’t have to deal with cleaning it for hours every single day.

Note that this may not be the best state if you are not too fond of hot summers, but the temperature usually is pleasant and you won’t worry about the heating or the AC too much.

5. You can easily find a job in your field

Source: unsplash.com

No matter what field you are a part of, and no matter if you are looking for your first job, or you are a seasoned expert, you can easily find a perfect career path here. In North Carolina, there is a job for pretty much anyone, and you can easily climb the stairs of success.

One interesting fact about this state is that it has an unemployment rate of less than five percent, which makes it one of the lowest in the country. Here you can easily find a job in healthcare, aerospace, pharmaceutical, IT, the automotive industry, or pretty much anything else.

6. Close communities

If you are looking for a friendly environment, you should look no further. This state is known for its close communities and warm people. It is a great place to raise your children, start a family, or even find the love of your life.

If you love barbeque, this is definitely the place for you. There are two main districts that are known for the tasty BBQ – Lexington and Eastern, but even if you are not a part of these districts, you should know that weekend barbeque with your neighbors is going to become a tradition.

These are some of the reasons why you should consider this state as an option if you are looking for a new place to move to. Note that you should start by looking for the right district for you, and there are many that you can pick from. Depending on your needs, preferences, and priorities, you should talk to your real estate agent about the best possibilities for you. As we previously mentioned, no matter what your budget is, you can easily find the right property for your needs, and one thing you should remember is that the real estate prices are going up every year, so even if you decide to switch places, you can always make profits out of your investment.

Thailand is a place where only a comfortable deck chair in the shade of a palm grove with a view of the turquoise sea is enough for you. In addition, you can take a plate of exotic sweet fruit and you will have the feeling that you are in seventh heaven. It is necessary to emphasize that Thailand has the largest number of tourists of all the countries of Southeast Asia. But if you want to really meet this fantastic country, visit hidden gems as well as the most popular destinations.

1. Chiang Mai

Believe us, your visit to Thailand must not pass without you visiting this attraction. A local place like this will give you one of the best experiences of your life. The hidden Thai gem is located right in front of the ancient walls where you will be able to see the beautiful sunset as well as the surroundings at that moment. If you compare Chiang Mai with Bangkok, we can tell you that there is a big difference in the atmosphere. Chiang Mai offers you a far more relaxed atmosphere that you can enjoy as you approach food vendors and souvenir shops.

2. Chiang Dao

When we mention Chiang Mai, we must also recommend going to Chiang Dao. This small town is located in this province at a high altitude, which is why it is also called the city of the stars. Although the temperature here is low, it is a great occasion to explore the surrounding peaks. Here you can find a lot of interesting phenomena such as the mountain tribe, but also many dishes that you can not try anywhere else. Also, you will have the opportunity to visit numerous caves, hot springs, waterfalls, and much more. You should check out UsefulTravelArticles.com and prepare even better for visiting Chiang Dao.

3. Koh Panyee fishing village

This fishing village is truly one of the most amazing hidden locations in Thailand. There is one interesting fact about it. All the locals are descendants of Toh Baboo who founded Koh Panyee with his family many years ago. To find out all the other details of their fascinating history, visit this small village by boarding a speedboat and getting to know their area. The local life of these great people can only be fully felt if you go there. In addition to history, you will have the opportunity to see great local specialties at a floating restaurant.

4. Sukhothai

Source: nationalgeographic.com

This former capital is also called the dawn of happiness. The reason is the special feeling you will have while you are near the numerous temples and statues of the Buddha. Several hundred ancient sites are located among the beautiful nature. However, you will have to travel a little more because there are no hotels here than you can find nearby. If you want to visit this place, we advise you to do so during the Loi Krathong Festival. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the great scenes of candles and fireworks that will illuminate the temples.

5. ChangChill elephant sanctuary

If you love elephants, you must come to this place. It is a very safe environment for these wonderful animals that you will adore. The shelter for them is located in one street, and you will be able to take a good look at them up close as they perform their daily activities. They will pass by you freely while you prepare medicines and food for them together with their guardians.

Conclusion

So, Thailand is also known as a place of orchids, mystical rivers, fascinating temples, paradise beaches, warm people, and enough experiences to come back again.

Spain has played second home to a sizeable swathe of the British population for over thirty years, now, with migration from Britain to Spain first booming in the late nineties. A slower pace of life, combined with brilliant, blazing Spanish sunshine, has – for many – proved simply too tempting a proposition to turn down, especially in the winter months. But is Spain still the number 1 place for Brits to buy overseas property, that’s the question? It’s a frequently asked question, and one we’re keen to answer!

The Brexit Consideration

Source: 2bm.com

The UK’s departure from the European Union has meant that UK citizens looking to buy Spanish property are now only able to stay in the country without a visa for 90 days out of every 180-day period. Far from putting expats off, however, in many cases it has actually galvanised demand, prompting UK residents who might previously have been on the fence about committing to a Spanish property, into taking the plunge and making the move. All in all, Brexit hasn’t affected people’s desire to move to Spain’s sunnier climes, helping it remain one of the most popular places to buy property, overseas.

Javea, for instance, is a highly sought after town in the Costa Blanca region of Spain, and is particularly popular with people looking to purchase property overseas. Tim Moore, a property agent local to the area, commented that since the 2016 referendum, demand for property has continued to steadily increase, with more people buying in Javea than in previous years.

Don’t worry though, because whilst that increased demand has translated into a steady rise of prices – as the laws of supply and demand dictate – Spanish property still remains remarkably cheap on the whole – which is another reason in and of itself why people are so keen on purchasing property in Spain.

Spanish Property Prices Remain Attractive

Source: spanishtaxesonline.com

We touched briefly there on Spanish property prices, but let’s look at them now in a bit more detail. Firstly, property prices themselves are low. If you take a three-bedroom apartment on the edge of a town or city as an example, then Spanish prices are almost 17% lower than their UK equivalent. Secondly, interest rates in Spain are remarkably low in comparison with other countries; for instance, the European Central Bank found earlier this year that Spain’s average mortgage rates was only 1.2% – great for those looking to purchase property, and with such a glut of (high-quality) housing still remaining throughout Spain, there’s no better time than now to make the move. Whether you’re looking for an apartment or town, or a villa in the hills, then your options as a Brit looking to buy in Spain, are incredibly open.

Spanish Climate Facts

Source: spainguides.com

In case you still needed convincing, then these statistics and facts about Spain’s weather and climate will do the trick. Using London and Javea as our examples, you’ll see that the average temperature range in London in the height of summer (between July and August) is between 15 and 23 degrees Celsius, whilst Javea’s is between 23 and 29 degrees Celsius. Then, looking at the winter months, you’ll find that London’s average temperature range in December is between 5 and 9 degrees Celsius, whilst Javea on the other hand? Its average December temperature range is between 9 and 16 degrees Celsius – the lowest average temperatures are as high as London’s highest average temperature! The figures speak for themselves!

Rain (or more accurately, the lack of rain) is another big factor driving people towards buying property in Spain. Compared with the UK, Spain gets 24% less rain per year than the UK does. Or, if you want to be really scientific – then it receives around 60 billion cubic metres less than the UK. A choice between damp, grey drizzle and a tan on the beach is hardly a choice at all…

What’s the Competition?

Source: idealista.com

Spain has two or three main competitors when it comes to purchasing property overseas. Namely, Australia, Canada and France. Looking first at Australia, and we find a country that – although on the other side of the world – is similar to Britain in many ways, weather excluded… The lack of a language barrier, its attractive climate (on a par with Spain’s) and the country’s focus on outdoor living has made it such a popular destination for UK families and retirees, alike. Its downsides are its distance from the UK and its incredibly tough visa application process.

Canada is another hot spot for people looking to buy property abroad; a culturally diverse country (with its Anglo-Franco intersections) boasting jaw-dropping landscapes, Canada is seen by many as the Northern Hemisphere’s equivalent to Australia. Its size can also often prove its downfall, however, with many people put off by the vast distances people often have to travel to see friends or use local amenities.

Closer to home – and equally close to Spain – are our neighbours across the channel, France. Offering some of the world’s best food (and drink), a wide variety of landscapes and many rustic properties on the market that are ripe for renovating, you can see why moving to France scratches the itch for many people. Its climate isn’t quite so reliably warm as its souther counterpart, however, which loses it points in terms of where to purchase property.

Still, though, even in spite of this stiff competition, Spain remains the number one place to buy property, overseas. Its relatively close proximity to the UK, bankable warm climate, already-established expat population and and unbeatable property prices provide the perfect option for anyone looking to move further afield. As a rule, if there’s been a trend of people doing something, there’s usually a good reason why. And since Spain has been the top destination for expats since the turn of the millennium, that says all that you need to know…

We all need a place to stay, but also we all need and have different perspectives and possibilities of where that place could be and how it would look like. Some people enjoy living somewhere quiet and far away from urban or suburban lifestyle. We made a list of 15 houses built on what we would call impossible locations, so let’s take a look.

1. Bajina Basta, Serbia

img source: anadventurousworld.com

In 1968, on top of a rock, in the middle of the River Drina, there was a house built. This house has stood there for nearly 50 years. Pretty amazing, right?

2. Alexandria, New York, US

One of the famous Thousand Islands, named Just Room Enough Island, lies on the Saint Lawrence River, and is close to the US-Canada border. It is the smallest inhabited island with one house on it. Washington Post made a joke about the house, stating: „One misstep and you’re swimming.“

3. Ellidaey Island, Iceland

img source: historyofyesterday.com

300 years ago, Ellidaey Island was inhabited by five families who survived by fishing and hunting puffins in the area. Now, there is one isolated house on the island, without water, electricity and with that no Internet, and with sauna.

4. Warsaw, Poland

Keret House is a micro-home between two buildings. It’s only 36 inches wide at its widest point.

5. Coober Pedy, Australia

img source: realestate.com.au

Living in seemingly impossible locations sometimes has nothing to do with wanting to get away from people, but with the fact you are forced to live there. In Coober Pedy, an opal mining town, the scorching 120-degree heat made its inhabitants move in inside the earth, and for over 100 years they have lived there.

6. Stanton Lees, Northern England

In small village Stanton Lees, historic Nine Ladies site was supposed to get quarried for gritstone. In order to prevent that, its inhabitants made tree houses.

7. Whistler, Canada

img source: awol.junkee.com

Software developer, Joel Allen, built his modern version of a treehouse when he was 26.

8. Guangdong province, China

In 2011, two technically illegal houses were built on the top of a factory building, in a curious sit.

9. Hengyang, China

img source: blog.efestio.com

Here’s another case of homes built illegally on top of a business building in China. Nowdays these 25 houses are served as dorms for employees from the mall.

10. Paro Valley, Bhutan

Since 17th century, the Paro Taktsang Monastery, where monks practice the Buddhism, has been tucked away no a rock.

11. Kalabaka, Thessaly, Greece

img source: edition.cnn.com

Another complex of monasteries, this time of Eastern Ortodox monasteries, known as Meteora, is sitting atop sandstone pillars. UNESCO included Meteora on their World Heritage List.

12. Zermatt, Switzerland

Solvay Hut is the highest-altitude house, with location on more than 13,000 feet up.

13. Linton, New Zealand

img source: businessinsider.in

Engineer Jono Williams has created his own santuary and named it Skysphere. It is completely app and voice controlled and has ability to go into locked-down „zombie mode“.

14. China

A „dingzighu“ or a „nail house“ is Chinese term for an occupied home whose owners are holding out against property development.

15. Turkey

Same phenomenon is present in other parts of the world. For example Lone House in Turkey, which was eventually demolished.
